AeroCare Becomes Las Vegas’ Newest Air Medical Provider

The Southwest Air Ambulance Brand is Bringing an Emergent and Non-Emergent Fixed-Wing to Las Vegas, Nevada.
AeroCare, a Guardian Flight brand, today announced that it is Las Vegas’ newest air medical transportation provider. The leading air medical brand is assuming operations of the AirMed International Las Vegas location - a strategic move by the sister companies to align services under the Southwest-based Guardian Flight operations. The new AeroCare base will provide local and long-distance emergent and non-emergent air medical transportation to the Las Vegas metropolitan area.
“Las Vegas offers an abundance of care options to its residents, but it also serves as a midway point between several vital healthcare hubs on the west coast, including Los Angeles, Phoenix and Salt Lake City,” said Jared Sherman, air chief operating officer for Guardian Flight. “By transitioning responsibilities from our sister company, AirMed International, and bringing an AeroCare fixed-wing asset to the area to handle both local and long-distance emergent and non-emergent transports, we are increasing access to the highest levels of medical care for patients in both Las Vegas and the surrounding states.”
Sherman added, “AeroCare and AirMed International have proudly provided emergency air medical services to the communities of the Southwest for nearly 50 years, and the AeroCare teams are proud to carry on the legacy of service established in Las Vegas by AirMed International. “
The airplane base will be staffed around-the-clock by highly trained and experienced pilots, flight nurses and flight paramedics. The aircraft will be maintained by Guardian Flight’s aviation maintenance technicians. The King Air C90 operated at this base is medically configured with the latest avionics and safety features.
AeroCare is a participating provider in the AirMedCare Network (AMCN), the nation’s largest air medical transport membership program with more than 320 air medical locations across 38 states. Members have no out-of-pocket costs for the flight only if flown by an AMCN participating provider for a life-or limb-threatening injury or illness. Whatever the member’s insurance or third-party insurance pays is considered payment in full. Annual memberships start at $99.
AeroCare is honored to be recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Service (CAMTS) as one of their accredited programs. CAMTS is an independent authority that sets high and exacting standards regarding patient care and safety in the air medical environment.
