On Friday, July 16, in a solemn opening ceremony in Lewisville, TX, the National EMS Memorial Service (NEMSMS) Moving Honors procession set off on its multistate trek in remembrance of 144 EMS and air medical fallen. The procession carries a custom-built Tree of Life memorial with the names of those who died in the line of duty during 2019 and 2020.

After making stops in multiple states, the Moving Honors procession will be met in Arlington, Virginia, on July 23 by the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride’s Ride of Honor for the Weekend of Honor. There, families of the honorees and EMS personnel from around the country will gather for a weekend of events to honor air and ground EMS providers, including the unveiling of the Tree of Life Memorial.
