Renata Baboolal, an EMT with Global Medical Response (GMR) Trinidad and Tobago, was recently named one of 33 Global Medical Response (GMR) Stars of Life. All honorees from across the country will be honored at the American Ambulance Association (AAA) Stars of Life Awards Ceremony, May 1-4 in Washington, D.C.

Baboolal was nominated because of the role she plays as a preceptor to new EMTs and for the unwavering support she shows her colleagues and her patients. “Renata’s selection as a 2022 Star of Life recipient came as no surprise to me or her peers. She goes beyond the call daily as she puts herself in service to her community,” said Stacy Ottley, Administrative Manager of GMR Trinidad and Tobago.

Baboolal shared that receiving the honor was truly humbling and that she hopes to serve as a role model to those new to the EMS industry. “I am humbled to be selected as a 2022 Stars of Life recipient. This award has motivated me to continue to be the best version of myself both professionally and personally. I hope that by winning this award, I can inspire others, especially those new to the EMS industry to go above and beyond the call of duty and to always remain customer-oriented and to always strive for excellence and continuous improvement.”

Each GMR Star of Life represents an incredible story of service and dedication in every area of the EMS industry and is selected by their peers in an extensive nomination process.
