Chris Kennison
Operation Manager
Chris Kennison was initially inspired to pursue a career in EMS due to having multiple friends actively involved in EMS and was intrigued by his friends' enthusiastic descriptions of it being the best job in the world. After his first experience in an ambulance, Chris knew this was the career path for him.
Over the last 15 years, Chris has had the privilege of holding various positions within the GMR family. He has worked as a paramedic, field training officer, field operations supervisor, clinical and education specialist and now serves as an operation manager in Orlando, FL. Each role has provided him with unique experiences and opportunities for growth.
One of the most valuable skills Chris acquired early in his career is the ability to communicate effectively with people. Patient interaction can be challenging and without strong people skills, it can be hard to succeed in this field. Today, he continues to use those skills when instructing new employees and teaching classes.
To those who are considering a career in EMS, Chris’s advice is to remember that no one starts out as an expert on their first day. EMS, especially patient care, is a skill that must be developed over time. Don't become discouraged by a few challenging shifts. Skills will develop as you gain experience. Keep learning, stay open to feedback and never lose sight of your commitment to helping others.
Chris exemplifies the dedication and selflessness that define our team at GMR. His commitment to serving the community and ensuring that patients receive the care they need, when they need it most, is truly commendable. Thank you, Chris, for your hard work and dedication to the communities that we serve.
“This is not just a job, it’s a passion to serve others and make a difference in their lives. Nothing compares to the feeling of knowing you helped someone in their time of need. “ Chris Kennison
