Jason Mattes

Meet Jason Mattes, an exceptional EMS professional with more than 20 years of service at GMR. His journey began when his uncle was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. Influenced by the service of the emergency medical professionals who responded to that incident, Jason embarked on a career in EMS to provide the same lifesaving care he witnessed.

Throughout his time at GMR, Jason has held several roles, including flight nurse, base nurse supervisor, regional educator, regional manager of patient care services, director of clinical and now, regional director for clinical practice in the south region. Recognizing early in his career the power of effective communication, Jason has built strong connections with patients, colleagues and the EMS community, ensuring exceptional care and fostering meaningful relationships.

Jason advises aspiring EMS professionals to avoid limiting their scope. By embracing a broader perspective, unforeseen opportunities can arise.
