Brindlee Fire Services is pleased to announce the successful completion of its acquisition of Rural Metro Fire from Global Medical Response (GMR). This marks a transformative milestone for both companies and will continue to support Rural Metro Fire as a leader in private fire services across the United States.

"Today is a historic day as Rural Metro Fire officially joins the Brindlee Fire Services family," said James Wessel, CEO of Brindlee Fire Services. "We are thrilled to welcome Rural Metro Fire and its dedicated employees, who have built a remarkable reputation for providing exceptional fire services to their communities."

With this acquisition, Rural Metro Fire will retain its brand, workforce, and legacy of more than 70 years of service, while benefiting from Brindlee’s unparalleled expertise and resources. Rural Metro Fire will remain focused on fire services, delivering essential protection, rescue, and emergency response to the communities it serves across 20 states. The transition also ensures the seamless continuation of support for employees under Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).

“This sale was always about finding the right home for Rural Metro Fire as GMR refocused on our core expertise of providing air and ground emergency medical services,” said GMR President and CEO Nick Loporcaro. “Brindlee Fire Services is an ideal partner to continue the mission of Rural Metro Fire, and we are confident that this transition will lead to even greater success.”

Michael Ragone, President of Rural Metro Fire, added, "This is the beginning of a new chapter for Rural Metro Fire. I am proud of our employees and the legacy we have built together. With Brindlee’s support, we will continue to serve our customers with excellence while fostering growth and opportunity for our team."

The combined entity will operate under the Rural Metro Fire brand while leveraging Brindlee’s extensive network of fire services companies, including Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, Company Two (ARFF), Firetrucks Unlimited, Solomon Safety, and FireFleet.

Brindlee Fire Services acknowledges GMR’s steadfast support throughout this transition and looks forward to working collaboratively to ensure a smooth separation process as Rural Metro Fire becomes a stand-alone entity. Communications to employees and customers will continue to provide updates and clarity as the transition progresses.
