AirMed International Partners with the Pac-12 Conference for 2020-21 Season

AirMed is providing air medical transportation services for Pac-12 student-athletes this season.
AirMed International (AirMed) announced Tuesday that it is providing air medical transportation services for student-athletes of the Pac-12 Conference during the league’s 2020-21 academic season. AirMed has and will continue to provide air medical transport for student-athletes who test positive for COVID-19 on road game days.
Utilizing a fleet of medically-configured aircraft, clinical teams from AirMed will respond to requests from Pac-12 universities to transport student-athletes who have tested positive for COVID-19 back to their home campuses where they will be placed into isolation and receive treatment and care from their respective medical staff.
"The Pac-12's partnership with AirMed has been a critical element of our COVID-19 health and safety protocols around travel related to sport competitions,” said Pac-12 Commissioner, Larry Scott. “Ensuring that we protect our student-athletes, all those connected to Pac-12 sports and our communities is our number one priority, and AirMed's services are helping our universities to do so."

Pac-12 officials have implemented a series of safety measures in response to COVID-19 and its return to play. More information on the Pac-12 COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee’s recommendations for return to play considerations, as well as the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Initiative, is available at Pac-12.com/health.
AirMed has also implemented its own safety measures in response to the virus. All flight crew undergo routine screening using state-of-the-art monitoring and medical assessment tools developed by AirMed’s parent company, Global Medical Response. The SafeRestart program includes:

- Ongoing evaluation of each crew member, which includes symptom and temperature checks every 12 hours
- Infectious disease screening using GMR's proprietary online platform (MAST – Medical Assessment and Screening Tool)
- Access to a 24/7-staffed Nurse Navigation and physician team to assess, screen and monitor employees who have been in contact with COVID-19-positive or presumptive patients
- Regular phone calls and check-ins to GMR crews or personnel who have been quarantined or are self-isolating
