Global Medical Response and Brindlee Fire Services Announce Purchase of Rural Metro Fire
10.29.2024
Rural Metro Fire and Valley Fire Services, previously Global Medical Response companies, will join and be operated by Brindlee Fire Services under the Rural Metro Fire brand.
Global Medical Response, Inc. and Brindlee Fire Services today announced the signing of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of Rural Metro Fire Dept., Inc. and Valley Fire Services Inc. (Rural Metro Fire). Rural Metro Fire and Valley Fire Services, previously Global Medical Response companies, will join and be operated by Brindlee Fire Services under the Rural Metro Fire brand. Brindlee Fire Services is a diversified fire industry company headquartered in Alabama. Following the completion of this acquisition, Rural Metro Fire will join Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, Company Two (ARFF), Firetrucks Unlimited, Solomon Safety, FireFleet, and other leading fire services companies as part of Brindlee Fire Services.
“As Global Medical Response realigns to focus on our core expertise of providing air and ground emergency medical services at a moment’s notice, we felt strongly that Rural Metro Fire would be better served as part of an organization focused primarily on fire response,” said Nick Loporcaro, president and CEO of Global Medical Response. “We carefully considered a number of options as we searched for an organization that would be the best home for Rural Metro Fire, and we are confident that Brindlee Fire Services’ unique structure and focus on supporting communities and fire departments alike makes them the right choice. We appreciate our colleagues at Rural Metro Fire and look forward to a positive ongoing partnership.”
With more than 70 years of service across 20 states, Rural Metro Fire offers a variety of fire protective services to rural and unincorporated communities, including fire prevention and suppression, emergency services, rescue and medical aid at vehicle accidents, and home safety checks. As part of the transition, Rural Metro Fire will be focused on fire services, limiting its medical transportation operations to Yuma, Arizona, and Columbus, Ohio.
"Brindlee Fire Services was founded for the sole purpose of providing excellent support to fire departments and the people they serve. I have admired Rural Metro for my entire career, and I’m thrilled to have them join the Brindlee Fire Services family. This acquisition strengthens our ability to equip fire departments with the tools and resources they need to protect their communities," said James Wessel, CEO of Brindlee Fire Services.
Brindlee Fire Services and Global Medical Response are targeting closing to occur in 2024, subject to standard closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
“This transaction marks the beginning of a new Rural Metro Fire, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide exemplary fire services to the communities we serve,” said Mike Ragone, Chief of Rural Metro Fire. “We owe our success to the commitment of our Rural Metro Fire employees, and I look forward to continuing to support them in maintaining focus on our mission and service to our communities and each other.”
