Global Medical Response Announces Key Executive Appointments

Dr. Ed Racht, CMO and Sean Tuley, CIO, assume leadership roles.
(Greenwood Village, Colo.) – Global Medical Response (GMR), a leading provider of air and ground medical transportation and private fire services, announced Dr. Ed Racht as Chief Medical Officer and Sean Tuley as Chief Information Officer.
Chief Medical Officer
“We are pleased to have Dr. Racht at the helm of the largest single practice of EMS medicine,” said Global Medical Response CEO Randy Owen. “He is respected in the industry as a collaborator and innovator.”
Racht served as the Chief Medical Officer for American Medical Response (AMR) since 2010. He also currently serves as Chair of the Texas EMS, Trauma and Acute Care Foundation.
Prior to joining AMR, Racht served as the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Piedmont Newnan Hospital in metro Atlanta. Racht was the first full-time Medical Director for the Austin/Travis County Emergency Medical Services System, where he spent 13 years. The System was nationally recognized in the Institute of Medicine’s Report on the state of emergency care for its collaborative approach to challenging healthcare integration issues. Racht has also received multiple awards, including EMS Medical Director of the Year in Texas, the American Heart Association’s Paul Ledbetter MD Physician Volunteer of the Year award and the Hero of Emergency Medicine by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

“Our new CIO, Sean Tuley brings a wealth of experience in information technology with a focus on healthcare,” said Owen. “He is an active advocate for healthcare innovation and we are honored to have him as part of our executive team.”
Tuley has more than 19 years’ experience spanning provider, IT services, consulting and product organizations, preceded by nine years in leadership roles as an officer in the United States Army. From 2010 through 2018, he served as SVP and CIO of LifePoint Health, a Fortune 500, $6.5 billion healthcare organization.
Tuley also serves in a formal advisory capacity to help promote healthcare innovation. Most recently, he served as an advisor for Heritage Healthcare Innovation Fund, Federation of American Hospitals IT Task Force, Microsoft Health and Life Sciences Advisory Board, ClearData Advisory Board, Agrin Health Advisory Board, Nashville Technology Council Veterans Executive Committee and the Nashville March of Dimes March for Babies Executive Committee.
