Lifeguard Ambulance Earns Prestigious CAAS Reaccreditation

An independent review validates that accredited agencies are adhering to the highest standards in the industry.
Lifeguard Ambulance Service, part of the Global Medical Response family of companies, is proud to announce its reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
Lifeguard Ambulance serves residents in Santa Rosa County and Bay County.
Ryan Gapinski, operations manager for Lifeguard Ambulance Service, said CAAS accreditation is designed to help EMS agencies increase organizational performance and efficiency, increase clinical quality, and decrease risk and liability. Accreditation provides a template for making comprehensive organization changes that improve the overall performance of the organization. An independent review validates that accredited agencies are adhering to the highest standards in the industry.
Lifeguard Ambulance Service provides 911 service to residents of Santa Rosa County, and interfacility transports to residents of Bay County. Gapinski said Lifeguard Ambulance Service was first accredited in 2011, and the team begins working on the reaccreditation application about a year before it expires. CAAS accreditation shows dedication to quality and affirms that organizations are upholding the highest standards in areas such as patient care, quality improvement, financial management, and public relations.
“Here in Santa Rosa County, we take pride in being one of about 200 CAAS accredited organizations across North America,” he said. “CAAS accreditation is an important element in demonstrating that Lifeguard Ambulance Service is dedicated to meeting the high benchmarks that our communities deserve.”
Brad Baker, Santa Rosa County Public Safety Director, said, “We are proud that Lifeguard Ambulance Service has successfully maintained accreditation through CAAS. It is reassuring to know that Santa Rosa’s EMS agency has been graded to this high standard and is one of only two EMS agencies in the panhandle that meet this standard.”
