Wyoming Flight Paramedic to be Honored at Annual Stars of Life Awards Ceremony

Lauri Wempen of Riverton was nominated for her dedication of service to communities in her state.
Lauri Wempen, a Flight Paramedic with Guardian Flight in Riverton, was recently named one of 33 Global Medical Response (GMR) Stars of Life. All honorees from across the country will be honored at the American Ambulance Association (AAA) Stars of Life Awards Ceremony, May 1-4 in Washington, D.C.
Wempen was nominated for the award because she has dedicated so much of her professional career to caring for the communities of Wyoming.
“Lauri has worked in emergency medical services in Wyoming in one capacity or another for more than 35 years,” said Brandon Kelley, Program Director for Guardian Flight. “For the past six years, her role has been with Guardian Flight, working as a flight paramedic. Lauri’s dedication to the profession and to the people of this state is admirable. She exemplifies what we should all strive for in EMS careers.”
Wempen said this nomination is an honor and that she feels very humbled to receive such important recognition. “I consider it a privilege to work in EMS,” said Wempen.” Not only do I get to use my clinical skills to serve others, but I get to do it alongside an amazing team of caregivers. To receive such an important national award is humbling and to be nominated by my peers for this recognition is an honor.”
