Transfer Centers

Transfer Centers

When rapid patient placement is vital, we manage the entire patient transfer process — whether emergent or non-emergent. Our Transfer Center Program is a hospital throughput solution to streamline the medical transportation ordering process and ensure appropriate documentation to determine levels of service and appropriate billing procedures. Transport coordinators will work in collaboration with your discharge planners and nursing staff to coordinate, manage and schedule all calls for medical transport services that you request.

Our services adhere to the physician’s declaration of medical necessity to ensure proper levels of care and patient placement are met, whether inbound to your facility or outbound to an appropriate receiving facility. Once call is initiated from hospital staff or the patient’s physician, the All-Access Transfer Center (AATC) will locate the most appropriate hospital, verify bed availability, determine admitting and consulting physicians, and arrange medical transport based on patient need.

  • Decreases time spent ordering services
  • Decreases time on task for transportation crews
  • Improves documentation collection and compliance
  • Ensures the proper level of transportation
  • Verifies medical necessity

The AATC will answer all incoming requests for patient consult or transfer; place patients with an admitting physician and consulting physician; verify bed availability; coordinate transport; and reintegrate patients back to the sending hospital or into a specific hospital network.

The AATC will place all patients requiring consult or reintegration and coordinate transfers due to the unavailability of services at the sending facility. The AATC will work to place a patient with an admitting physician, consulting physician, verify bed availability and coordinate transport.

Our Command Center solutions were deployed to assist with the COVID-19 response in New York and California.
