AMR Rochester has been recognized by the Monroe-Livingston Regional EMS Awards for its contributions to the community in 2022. Congratulations to the entire team!
The Monroe-Livingston Regional EMS Council has named American Medical Response (AMR) Rochester as EMS Agency of the Year as part of its 2022 awards program. This award will be forwarded to the New York State EMS Council for consideration in its state awards which will be announced in the fall.
“We are proud to be recognized by our peers in the EMS community as a regional leader in quality and patient care,” said Tim Frost, regional director for AMR. “Our teams worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and have achieved remarkable progress in improving delivery of care, efficiency of service and quality of life for those we serve. Our people are our strength, and we grow stronger every day because of their hard work, determination, skill and professionalism. We thank the Regional Council for this opportunity to showcase what we have done and what we’ll continue to provide.”
The award nomination, submitted by AMR Rochester Medical Director, Dr. Erik Rueckmann, detailed the strong clinical and operational leadership demonstrated by AMR Rochester during the three-year global pandemic and its strides in career advancement and innovation with the implementation of its ‘Earn While You Learn’ and Nurse Navigation programs.
“AMR Rochester’s strong operational and clinical leadership has been pivotal to guiding this agency through the storms caused by COVID-19, and it has come out stronger, more innovative and resilient. AMR has created a robust clinical care team that is redefining continuous quality improvement. The operation has continued to advance its award winning ‘Earn While You Learn’ academy program and had four cohorts graduate in 2022, including the region’s first all-female class. AMR Rochester continues to foster the launch of the Nurse Navigation program, which effectively has diverted over 1,300 patients away from the EMS and hospital systems through the application of nurse advice, alternative transportation to urgent and specialty care centers, as well as telehealth appointments with physicians.”
The Monroe-Livingston Regional EMS Council is one of 18 Regional EMS Councils established under Article 30 of the New York State Public Health Law to provide support and guidance to Emergency Medical Services agencies and systems across New York. MLREMS represents all EMS agencies in Monroe and Livingston Counties and has agency and stakeholder members from every aspect of EMS care, from fire service first response to ambulance and hospital systems.
