Global Medical Response Announces Organizational Change

Company aligns air, ground, membership and fire operations.
(Lewisville, TX) — Global Medical Response (GMR), a leading provider of air and ground medical transportation and private fire services, today announced Ted Van Horne will be promoted to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. All air, ground and fire operations will report to Van Horne. The company also announced that Fred Buttrell, Air Medical Group Holdings (AMGH) President and CEO, will leave GMR on July 31, 2019, after assisting with his transition.
“I want to personally thank Fred for his tenure building the AMGH business from the ground up and his service to our country as a U.S. Air Force Captain,” said Global Medical Response President and CEO Randy Owen. “Fred has given a great deal to our company, and we are proud to have worked alongside him. He was integral to the development of the air division and to the formation and development of Global Medical Response this past year.”
“This organizational change is a major step in the Company’s year-long effort to align air, ground, membership and fire operations into one, integrated organization,” Owen added. “Ted is a 30-year veteran of the Emergency Medical Services industry and has played a vital role in our integration efforts.”
The company has already integrated ground and air operations in nearly 50 markets and responded to several natural disasters during 2018. Combining the strength of its air, ground and fire operations, GMR led the emergency response during the West Coast wildfires and during hurricanes Florence and Michael. “We can mobilize at a moment’s notice while still ensuring seamless ground and air operations in the communities we serve. It’s a credit to the training, professionalism and commitment of the 38,000 Global Medical Response team members,” said Owen.
