Hurricane Ian Response
9.30.2022
Global Medical Response (GMR) is deploying EMS teams and medical assets for patient evacuations in Florida.
When disaster strikes, Global Medical Response takes action and all at a moment’s notice. Prior to Hurricane Ian’s landfall, we activated our National Command Center in the Dallas area, and as part of American Medical Response’s (AMR) contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), we deployed EMS teams and ground medical transportation assets to help communities most impacted by the devastation. AMR is GMR’s primary ground business.
Our crews, whether in air or on ground and in coordination with other teams, are evacuating patients, working around-the-clock to ensure that those most vulnerable to Ian’s destruction are cared for and removed from harm’s way in the fastest and safest way possible.
