Carol Gilliam, Marine Corps Veteran
Associate Communications Supervisor, American Medical Response
Carol Gilliam served as a Radio Operator, Truck Driver and an Engineer during her career with the United States Marine Corp. Her military career included four years of active duty and two more years in the reserves. Gilliam joined the military to be part of something bigger than herself and to serve her country. Gilliam’s father had also served in the Army during the Korean War. Today, Gilliam serves as an Associate Communications Supervisor in San Diego where she is responsible for call-taking quality assurance, investigation service and compliance issues.
"I’ve been with GMR for 32 years,” says Gilliam, “and I have been fortunate enough to work at different locations and positions during my tenure. I would have to say that my favorite job was being a Field Supervisor. I enjoy the challenges of my current position because every day is unique. I think the military prepared me for my current position by being able to multi-task and stay calm in any situation. I also enjoy working with a diverse group of people to accomplish the same goal.”
