Felix Ayala
Registered Nurse, Flight Paramedic
Felix Ayala began his career in emergency medical services (EMS) more than 10 years ago as a way to support his college education. However, what began as a means to an end quickly transformed into passion. Captivated by the challenges and rewards of EMS, Felix decided to pursue a career with purpose.
Throughout his career, Felix has held various positions, each contributing to his professional development and experience. He has worked as an EMT, paramedic, operations supervisor, field training officer (FTO), continuing education instructor, and now serving as a flight paramedic and registered nurse. Even in his current role, his dedication to ground EMS remains as he continues to serve as a part-time registered nurse for AMR.
Felix attributes his success in EMS to the foundational skill of assessment. His understanding of patient assessment and disease processes has been paramount, enabling him to make split-second decisions and administer lifesaving interventions effectively.
For anyone interested in pursuing a career in EMS, Felix’s advice is to just go for it. The rewards are not only professional but also personal, as you get to make a positive difference in people's lives every day.
Felix's journey in EMS reminds us that with passion and commitment, anything is possible. Thank you, Felix, for your hard work and dedication to the communities we serve.
