Macara Trusty

Meet Macara Trusty, a dedicated member of our GMR family with a remarkable EMS career that spans almost 30 years. Macara’s role in EMS began at the age of 13 when she witnessed the valuable work of EMS providers during a major accident in her hometown. This life-altering experience planted a seed within her, fueling her determination to make a difference in people's lives through emergency medical services.

From EMT to paramedic, Macara learned the significance of active listening, allowing her to swiftly identify issues and deliver effective solutions that assisted her to advance as a paramedic, field training officer and later as a clinical education specialist. Macara currently serves as the regional manager of project management for GMR’s south region. While she no longer works in the field, her mission is to make the EMS industry better every day.

For those aspiring to pursue a career in EMS, Macara encourages setting ambitious goals that continuously push you beyond your comfort zone and make you strive for excellence. By doing this, she believes you can reach new heights in your career and make an even greater impact on the lives of others.
