Peter Como

Special Projects Manager

Peter Como's pursuit into the world of EMS was driven by the need to provide stability for his young family, the satisfaction that comes from being part of a strong team.

Peter has now served as an EMS professional for more than 25 years, and has held a multitude of positions within GMR, spanning various roles and responsibilities across local operations and beyond - from EMT, field training officer, crew leader, paramedic, field supervisor, operations supervisor, administrative supervisor, operations manager and now a special projects manager.

Peter has also served in different capacities within GMR's Office of Emergency Management, including roles such as strike team leader, task force leader, division chief, operations chief, state liaison, deputy branch chief, branch chief, incident management team (IMT) coordinator, Office of Emergency Management National Command Center (NATCOM) operations support and NATCOM logistics section chief.

One of the valuable lessons Peter learned early in his career was the importance of remaining calm and composed in high-stress situations. This ability to stay structured and composed has been a cornerstone of his career and allowed him to make sound decisions, be productive and maintain efficiency, ultimately contributing to the success of the organization.

For those considering a role in EMS, Peter's advice is to focus on your personal identity by understanding who you are and who you aspire to become.

Thank you, Peter, for your hard work, dedication, leadership and contributions to the communities we serve.

"EMS is truly a noble profession, and GMR offers unique growth opportunities that allow you to shape your career into something that works for you." Peter Como
