Virgel Swanson

Meet Virgel Swanson, an experienced EMS provider with 27 years of service. Virgel’s journey began when he enrolled in EMT school to learn how to care for his ill father. Since then, he has been an integral part of the EMS field, currently serving as a field supervisor for AMR in Linn County, Kansas.

Throughout his career, Virgel has maintained a thirst for knowledge, always seeking to learn something new each shift. His ability to connect with people has led to remarkable encounters and valuable insights into patients' lives. His commitment extends beyond his official role, as he also fills in as a paramedic and assists with training development.

For aspiring EMS providers, Virgel advises giving their all to the profession and patients, acknowledging the challenges but underscoring the immense rewards as GMR provides diverse opportunities for growth.
