The new base will provide service to La Paz Regional Medical Center, the town of Parker and surrounding communities.
AeroCare, a Guardian Flight brand, announced today that it has opened its newest air medical transport base in La Paz County. Located in the town of Parker, the new base will provide emergent air medical transportation to La Paz Regional Medical Center, the town of Parker and the Colorado River region of Arizona, California and Nevada. This is the first AeroCare base to be opened in the Parker Valley area.
“The town of Parker is located at the intersection of two major transportation throughfares for Arizona and California,” said Jared Sherman, air chief operating officer for Guardian Flight. “The location of this base will greatly benefit residents and visitors to the Parker Valley and travelers on Arizona State Route 95 and California State Route 62 by providing emergent air medical transport for patients experiencing life-threatening illnesses or injuries.”
The base is staffed by highly trained and experienced pilots, flight nurses, and flight paramedics and is maintained by on-site aviation maintenance technicians. The helicopter operated at this base is a medically configured Airbus H-130 that contains the latest in avionics and safety features.
AeroCare is a participating provider in the AirMedCare Network (AMCN), the nation’s largest air medical transport membership program with more than 320 air medical locations across 38 states. Members have no out-of-pocket costs for the flight only if flown by an AMCN participating provider for a life-or limb-threatening injury or illness. Whatever the member’s insurance or third-party insurance pays is considered payment in full. Annual memberships start at $99.
AeroCare is honored to be recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Service (CAMTS) as one of their accredited programs. CAMTS is an independent authority that sets high and exacting standards regarding patient care and safety in the air medical environment.
